James Heappey spent Friday morning at St Andrew’s Junior School where he was shown around by acting head teacher Ali Pook and taken to see the children in their learning and discuss a range of matters.
He also met with the school council members and discussed what they felt the strengths of the school are, as well as their ideas for improving school life and the provision for children in the town.

Head teacher Ali Pook said: “This is the start of some exciting work on developing the children’s understanding of British Values and the role democracy has in our lives”
