Wells MP James Heappey attended a drop-in in the House of Commons to discuss the challenges in General Practice across Somerset.
Mr Heappey has visited health centres and GP practices over the past few weeks to discuss recruitment issues, with numbers struggling to cope with demand in the county.
The GP drop in was a chance for Members of Parliament to raise their specific concerns, and consequently raise with Ministers.
Mr Heappey said: "I am acutely aware of the challenges faced by GPs in this part of the world, and I am working closely with the Department for Health and Social Care to try and help those in our area who are struggling to get appointments. I also know GPs struggle to recruit down here in Somerset and we need to all work together on how to overcome this.
"It was extremely helpful to attend the drop in, and I look forward to working collaboratively to improve services across Somerset."
