Wells MP James Heappey was part of the victorious House of Commons Tug-Of-War team which helped raise more than £146,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mr Heappey – and a number of colleagues – took part in the culmination of the Macmillan Cancer Support Tug of War fundraising event which was a battle of the House of Commons vs the House of Lords.
The House of Commons team were presented with a trophy to mark their success and enjoyed a number of other battles which were compered by BBC Radio 2 presenter Jeremy Vine.
Mr Heappey said he was honoured to be a part of such a fun and important event – and was very pleased to reclaim the trophy.
He said: “It was fantastic to be a part of such an incredible fundraiser. Macmillan Cancer Support put on an excellent event with many great battles.
“I, of course, am very happy to have defeated the House of Lords team and lift the trophy again with my fellow MPs.
“It was great fun and to raise more than £146,000 for such a brilliant charity makes the victory that little bit sweeter.”
