Wells MP James Heappey is pleased to see additional cash earmarked for two organisations in Glastonbury and Burnham -on-Sea as part of the £1.57billion package for the arts from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Princess Theatre in Burnham-on-Sea and Shangrila Glastonbury will both receive more than £60,000 each in the second round of the Culture Recovery Fund.
This is in addition to the seven successful organisations from the first round of funding.
Mr Heappey said: “This funding is a lifeline to organisations like this and I know how thankful those in receipt of it are to continue their hard work behind-the-scenes to get their businesses back underway in a Covid-secure way.
“I will continue to support the culture and arts industry in the Wells constituency through this tough time and I am pleased more than half a dozen grants have been handed out by DCMS in the past few weeks.”
