Wells Constituency MP James Heappey presented awards to the winning entries in his Christmas Card Competition this week with the top three entries featuring on the card he has sent to thousands of members of the Government, fellow parliamentarians, journalists, community leaders and local businesses and residents.
The winning entry was by 4 year old Max Beadle from St Cuthbert’s Church of England Infant School in Wells, whilst entries from 7 year old Amber Garvey from Brent Knoll School and Tabitha Lowdnes-Northcott from Brookside School in Street were both highly commended. The winning entry is the front cover for Mr Heappey’s Christmas card this year whilst the highly commended entries are both shown on the back cover.
The winning entries all received framed copies of their design whilst the overall winner will travel to London with tickets donated by the Great Western Railway to tour Parliament with Mr Heappey. Hundreds of local school children entered the competition this year with all entries receiving a certificate.
“I would like to thank all the children who entered the competition this and congratulate Max, Amber and Tabitha for their winning entries. There were so many wonderful designs and we had great fun judging them” said James Heappey. “I look forward to welcome Max and his family to Parliament in the New Year.”
