Wells MP James Heappey gave Ofcom’s latest app a try at an event in Parliament this week, which he hopes will prove to be a helpful tool to empower local residents to choose the best provider for them.
The new mobile and broadband app allows people to check where their home broadband and mobile reception is at its best.
The app checks if there are any issues with coverage and provides advice on how to improve it.
It also gives information about which network offers the best service in specific parts of Somerset.
Mr Heappey said: “One of my key priorities is improving connectivity, faster broadband and stronger mobile signal.
“These are vital to the continued growth in Somerset’s economy and is vital to so many of the things we now do at work and at home.”
The app is available for Apple and Android devices and can be accessed on desktop by clicking here.
