Wells MP James Heappey visited the MIND hub in Shepton, following its great work to support those with mental health challenges - having been open for 18 months.
The High Street venue has gone from strength to strength through the pandemic, and helped many people through these issues. Not only are therapies available through the NHS, but there are also local community groups which bring people together.
Mr Heappey met with Chief Executive Alex Priest and Deputy Chief Operating Officer Charlie Acton-Pearce to discuss the strides which have been made in Somerset to improve the mental health services across the county.
The MIND branch is well-supported and growing locally, with the Shepton Mallet branch able to serve constituents in Mendip.
Mr Heappey said: "I am so pleased with the strides which have been made in this county to support people struggling with their mental health. I have long campaigned for parity of esteem of mental health and physical health, and while still work to do, it is great to see Somerset have so much support available. Well done to everyone involved, and I look forward to supporting them going forward."
