Wells MP James Heappey visited the local RSPCA centre in Brent Knoll for the first time, to find out about their fundraising efforts and work they are doing to rescue animals in need.
The Somerset branch is hoping to raise money for much needed help to support re-homing of animals, as well as accommodation for those found and in need.
Mr Heappey said: "I am always in awe of the work fantastic organisations like the RSPCA do to help distressed animals and give them a second chance in life.
"It was great to meet the team, see the animals and get a feel for their plans for the future.
"If you can support them financially, I know they would be enormously grateful. You can visit their Facebook page and donate directly to them here."
